Moving...

Well, I have spent the last 3 days moving out of my house and into my fiance's house. Moving is the worst! We had movers come and move the heavy furniture and some of the boxes, some of Tom's squad came up and moved more boxes and the tv, so most of the stuff is here, but now I hav to unpack everything. If I never have to look at boxes again it will be too soon!  Off to unpack some more... what a fun spring break.

  1. I agree! All I've done this spring break is class work, write IEPs and pack! We will celebrate and relax in Jamaica!

  2. Deanna, I hate moving worth a passion! I even dread at the end of the school year that teachers are going to have to move into their academy's building. I'm hoping that no one wants the small resource class and I can stay where I am.

  3. The only good thing about moving is it does allow one to throw out "stuff" that has been sitting around way too long. I have only moved 3 times but I do not like it. In my role as a teacher, I have moved classrooms 10 times, with two of those moves out of the district and then back the next year due to being RIF'ed. Not fun but I don't have too much "stuff" in my room.

  4. Hording too much stuff is a nasty habit of mine! I have been trying to get rid of all the stuff around the house lately that hasn't been used in a year or more. Especially those clothes that I always pull out of my dresser, look at for a while and think, "Maybe I will be able to fit into this again someday," or "If I ever have to go to just the right event where this will fit in..." Nope, just toss it! Why keep holding onto it!?!

  5. I think teachers are the worst hoarders. When I moved from Chicago to Vegas, I had 85 boxes of school stuff. I have since narrowed it down to about 10. As a special ed teacher, I never know what kind of things I will need to be able to differentiate for every student. Hopefully we will be able to help them with technology so I can get rid of even more!
